Nine races have been set down for Ascot this Saturday for Sires Produce Stakes Day. The weather is fine, the track is good (4) and the rail is out eight metres for the entire circuit.

2 I’m Nipote (Bet Now: $2.80) on top for me. This gelding ran last Thursday at Pinjarra where he got back to near last in the run and made up a stack of headway late in the piece when a narrow second to Le Messager. Back to 1400m should be fine and with Pike taking over, he takes beating.

3 The Spruiker (Bet Now: $4.40) is on the seven day back up after racing last Saturday over 1500m here. He got near the speed and seemed to have his chance but was just plain late in the piece behind Correct Choice. Prior efforts were strong so don’t dismiss him.

4 Major Mario (Bet Now: $15.00) is a son of Vert De Grace that is resuming. His last run came on Nov 23 over this track/distance when back, wide with cover and was never a factor behind Janny. two trials under the belt and can sprint well fresh so watch betting.

2 Pond Master (Bet Now: $3.20) should prove hard to beat here. He won two weeks ago over 1400m here where he got back in the run and made up decent headway late in the piece when third to impressive winner Awesome Boy. Fast run 1200m, he’ll get back and launch late.

1 Daytona Pete (Bet Now: $4.40) is three weeks between runs since resuming over 1000m here where he got off speed and tried hard but condition gave out late in the piece behind Black Ora. Better set up here, upside to come, he’s dangerous.

3 King Hit (Bet Now: $23.00) is a Trevor Andrews trained three year old that resumes. He is first up, having not raced since Dec 14 over 1400m here when attempting to lead throughout and he gave a strong kick but just couldn’t quite see it through behind Earthstorm. Recent trial was sound, watch betting.

4 Hanchi (Bet Now: $7.50) is the one for me if he’s ready to go. He resumes for Team Casey, having not raced since the 2024 Sunlight Classic at Flemington when down the track behind Estriella. Been given a good break and his recent trial was strong. He’ll get back but hopefully can launch over the top.

2 Toropa (Bet Now: $2.90) is a talented mare that resumed with a bang three weeks ago at this track/distance, giving them a start and a beating, launching late to finish best. Should be better for the first up run and she’ll be stronger than most late.

3 Sinful Living (Bet Now: $11.00) lands on speed and will run an honest race. She ran behind Toropa in the race mentioned above, landing near the front and she tried hard, but she just couldn’t quite see it through. Not sure she wins, but is a first four threat.

7 Awesome Boy (Bet Now: $1.60) takes on the older horses but he looks a good prospect after a win two weeks ago over 1400m here, leading throughout and he gave nothing else a look in, winning impressively. He’ll land near the front and take running down.

4 Mojo’s Luck (Bet Now: $7.00) should appreciate a rise to the mile after resuming over 1500m here a fortnight back. He got to near last in the run and made up decent headway without threatening behind I’m Crafty. Maps to settle much closer in the run and be effective late.

2 I’m Crafty (Bet Now: $19.00) won the race mentioned above and the win was massive, giving them a start and a beating, producing a brilliant finale from near last to score. If he can run up to that effort here, he’s good enough to take this out.

5 Queen Of Jerusalem (Bet Now: $12.00) on top for me. Adam Durrant trained mare that comes through the Albany Cup where she got back to near last in the run and while she was never a winning threat, she did make up headway in defeat behind Filthy Habits. That form reads super and the depth here is nowhere near as deep.

4 Henchard (Bet Now: $12.00) is a slight query at 2200m but with front end control, he’s dangerous. He attempted to lead throughout over 1800m here a fortnight back and gave a strong kick from the front but couldn’t quite see it through when a narrow second to Fine Touch. He’ll run well I am sure.

9 Grand Reserve (Bet Now: $10.00) ran a close up third to Fine Touch in the race mentioned above. He got a decent sit in transit and tried hard but just lacked the polish to get there. He is a track/distance winner and remains down in the weights.

2 Shooting Spirit (Bet Now: $3.40) looks a good thing to my eye. He ran over 1200m here two weeks ago where he got back to near last in the run and made up decent headway without getting there when a close up third to Camera Action. Back to a fast run 1100m, Pike on, he rates highly.

9 Supernatural (Bet Now: $6.50) is an Adam Durrant trained filly that resumes. This girl is first up, having not raced since Feb 15 at Pinjarra in the Platinum Classic when producing an end of prep run, finishing down the track behind Rissoles. Resumes without a public trial but she is a filly with talent.

3 Eevalina (Bet Now: $34.00) is an improver for Michael Lane. Three weeks between runs since resuming over 1000m where she got back off the speed and was never really a factor behind Prospector’s Pick. Fitter and up in trip, Bar Plates off, she’s a big improver at odds.

10 Wicked Venom (Bet Now: $9.00) looks an each way gamble. He resumed over 1000m two weeks ago where he got back to near last in the run but was a real eye catcher late in the piece when second to On The Full. Fitter and up in trip and with good upside, he takes beating.

2 Jaz Session (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is three weeks between runs since racing at this track/distance when on speed and she tried hard but just couldn’t quite get there when second to Nobellity, who was far from disgraced last Saturday. Good racing style and strikes a winnable race.

5 Hang Glider (Bet Now: $23.00) is a knockout hope. He went around over 1400m here last Saturday where he reared as the gates opened and took no competitive part. Prior efforts were sound so a fast run 1200m, he’s in with a shout.

3 Deltason (Bet Now: $4.20) is the best each way gamble across Australia for the weekend. He beat nothing last Wednesday at this track/distance but the arrogance of the win and the way he put them away was just so damn impressive. He has the 1400m lead in, he has that sense of timing and will be charging at them late.

5 Snitzalatte (Bet Now: $2.60) has to be given serious respect after a placing in the Karrakatta where she got back and made up decent headway late in the piece behind Talkanco. Pike jumps on, should lob in a beaut spot and the rise to 1400m is no issue.

6 Perfectly Proper (Bet Now: $7.50) is a knockout hope. She resumed in the Karrakatta and was an eye catcher, getting back and making up decent headway late in the piece without threatening. Has a much better gate this time around, she’s dangerous.

9 Hesket (Bet Now: $26.00) is worth a throw at the stumps in the get out. He ran over this track/distance last Wednesday where he got back in the run, four wide the trip, and the hard run told late in the piece. He had trialled well leading in and was a couple of months leading in so for mine, he’s a definite improver.

10 Western Power (Bet Now: $2.35) comes back to 1400m for Michael Grantham after racing over the mile here two weeks ago. He got on speed and seemed to have his chance but was nabbed late by Trio. Back in trip is fine, will press on and be dangerous against these.

5 Without Reg (Bet Now: $11.00) is racing in a purple patch for Rhys Radford and commands respect. He ran fourth to Trio in the race mentioned above and he tried hard but for mine, 1600m was just a bridge too far. Back to 1400m I like and is dangerous if there is petrol in the tank.

NEXT BEST: Race Six Number 2 Shooting Spirit

LONG SHOT: Race Eight Number 3 Deltason
