Inglis Millennium 🏆: View the Field and Odds for the Inglis Millennium
Race 1. (12:30) Midway Hcp 1600m
7 Our Maryanne (Bet Now: $5.00) is a Clarry Conners trained mare that is heading in the right direction. She resumed on the Kenso and I thought there was good merit to the performance given she gave them a start and a beating, which isn’t easy to do first up. Good improvement to come and up to the mile, she’s hard to beat.
8 Cirebon (Bet Now: $5.00) has done her recent racing under the lights at Canterbury and is going really well. Led throughout to win two back before going down narrowly last time after leading. Good racing style, will give herself every chance and is in form.
6 Decadent Tale (Bet Now: $15.00) is a must for exotics. She ran in the Midway from two weeks back here. Despite a wide gate, Nash was able to lob 1/1 and from there, I thought she had her chance but she was far from disgraced in defeat behind Uzziah. Not sure I could back her to win but for multiples, she can be certainly entertained.
Race 2. (13:05) Lonhro Plate 1000m
1 Anode (Bet Now: $3.40) looks the winner for GaiBott. He has been kept on ice since a dominant debut win here back on Deb 16, producing sustained speed from the front and giving nothing else a look in to win and win well. Trials to get ready since have been strong and despite drawing wide, he’ll press forward and take running down.
7 Castanya (Bet Now: $11.00) has an engine under the hood. Annabel Neasham trained filly that debuted a fortnight back here where she got back off the speed and was held up at times but got clear and found the line well enough behind a Slipper candidate, Switzerland. Better for the run under the belt, she appeals.
10 La Roja (Bet Now: $26.00) is an I Am Invincible filly for Team Snowden that is on debut. This girl has trialled well on a couple of occasions to get ready, the latest coming at Gosford when on speed and moved quite well to my eye in winning the trial. Stable are flying with their juveniles so watch the market.
Race 3. (13:40) Inglis Classic Yearling Sale (Bm78) 1600m
6 Infinitive (Bet Now: $5.50) should love the rise to the mile for Chris Waller. This mare resumed over 1400m at Warwick Farm where she got back to near last in the run and while she spotted them a start, she sustained a run and kept finding the line in a great return when a narrow second to Hell Hath No Fury. Fitter, up in trip, good upside, she rates highly.
1 Ceerseven (Bet Now: $5.00) is a nice horse for Mitch Freedman that commands respect. He ran at The Valley last time where he gave them a start and a beating, finishing best from off the speed under Jaylah Kennedy to score. Good test here against likely types but maps ideally, he’ll be strong late and gets B Melham.
9 Canadian Ruler (Bet Now: $11.00) has done little wrong in a seven start career for Bjorn Baker and is one of the key chances. He ran a fortnight back over the mile at Randwick where he got back off the speed and took a while to wind into his work but was pretty good late in the piece behind Dazzle Legend. He has that 1600m run under the belt, which should hold him in good stead.
Race 4. (14:15) Tab Highway Hcp (C3) 1200m
6 Melody Again (Bet Now: $11.00) can put her hand up for the Country Championships with a forward showing here. This mare resumes for Scott Singleton, having not raced August 26 when a strong winner of a Highway over 1400m at Rosehill and was spelled, likely with the Country Championships in mind. Trial win to get ready was strong and although 1200m is on the short side for her, she’ll be charging late.
20 Atmospheric Rock (Bet Now: $4.40) is a nice horse for Danny Williams and is one of the leading contenders. Market wanted him with confidence when resuming a fortnight back in the Highway here. He got a mile out of his ground but I really liked the way he found the line late in the piece behind Blow Dart when a close up fourth. Good upside to come and stable is starting to hum.
4 Outback Ringer (Bet Now: $18.00) should be better for the first up run, which came in a Highway at Rosehill a few weeks ago where he just lacked the change up speed to go with them late but the run was a pass mark I thought when fourth to surprise winner Smart And Dapper. Better for that run under the belt and is a previous second up winner. Hard to beat I’d suggest.
Race 5. (14:50) Westmead Institute (Bm78) 1300m
4 Dakota Vroom (Bet Now: $3.20) deserves a crack at Saturday metro grade. Chris Waller trained mare that is 2/2 this time in, both wins coming under the lights at Canterbury where she has given them a start and a beating to win each time. Heading in the right direction and although this is a step up from her runs/wins this prep, I am confident she can measure up.
7 Gently Rolled (Bet Now: $2.35) looks really well placed here for Bryce Heys. This mare resumed in the Midway a few weeks ago over 1200m where she got back off the speed but came with a well timed run, launching late to run second to Willaidow. Fitter and up in trip, if she can settle closer in the run, she’ll take holding out.
5 Afterlight (Bet Now: $8.50) is on the seven day back up for Chris Waller after racing last Saturday at Rosehill where she had every chance it seemed but that said, she was far from disgraced in defeat behind Wallenda. Always respect a Waller horse on the back up.
Race 6. (15:25) Eskimo Prince Stakes 1200m
1200m is short of ideal for 6 Celestial Legend (Bet Now: $6.50) but I am a big fan of this guy and I do think he’ll be a Group l winner by the end of the Autumn. He resumes for Les Bridge after two runs in the Spring where they pretty much were barrier trials, education runs, but each time he caught the eye. Trial was just fair and he will be better over further but he’ll be very strong late.
4 Caballus… (Bet Now: $8.50) a contender or pretender? Good test here but he won three weeks back at Rosehill and was quite dominant in giving them a start and a beating. He beat nothing but he is a horse being highly touted hence why he’s running here and not in a benchmark race. Keen to see how he goes.
Great to see 1 Griff (Bet Now: $5.00) at the races. The Caulfield Guineas winner returns, having not raced since the all way triumph in that big feature, securing his life post racing. Whatever he does from now on is a bonus but he has trialled up nicely for the return and although 1200m is short of his best, he does have an element of class.
Race 7. (16:00) Inglis Millennium 1100m
4 Fully Lit (Bet Now: $2.90) looks a really sharp colt. GaiBott trained juvenile that is three weeks between runs since producing sustained speed from the front, giving nothing else a look in to win and win well, running decent time in the process. He has that 1100m run under the belt, he’ll press forward and prove hard to get past.
5 Zestiman (Bet Now: $15.00) is three weeks between runs for Team Hayes since a strong debut win down the straight at Flemington where he lobbed on speed and seemingly moved quite well before being clicked up and he got better as the race went on to win and win well. Like him up to 1100m, he’ll be strong at the end…hard to beat I’d suggest.
9 El Morzillo (Bet Now: $5.50) is a filly on the up for Kelly Schweida and rates as one of the leading contenders. She resumed two weeks ago at the Sunny Coast where she was impressive, doing work from the wide gate but she found and was strongest late to win and win well. Natural improvement, solid form around her, she rates highly.
Race 8. (16:35) Laurel Oak Bloodstock (Bm94) 1000m
7 Barber (Bet Now: $5.50) on top in what looks a decent sprint race riddled with quality. He resumes for James Cummings, having not raced since Melbourne Cup Day when placing down the straight behind a nice horse in Wiggum. He gets serious weight relief for his return, he’ll park off the good speed and I dare say will be strong late.
2 Omni Man (Bet Now: $8.50) is a GaiBott trained sprinter that resumes. He was one of the real finds of the Winter but when stepped up to Stakes grade, he didn’t quite measure up and raced like a tired horse. Given a good break and with two strong trials under the belt, I do think the grounding is there to say he’ll run well fresh, so watch the market.
5 Renosu (Bet Now: $12.00) is a talented son of Exceed And Excel that resumes for James Cummings. He hasn’t raced since July 1 when a dominant all the way winner in the Creswick down the straight at Flemington. Not a noted fresh horse but he has trialled up super in readiness for his return and he has versatility re racing pattern.
Race 9. (17:15) Asi Solutions Hcp 1600m
8 Amor Victorious (Bet Now: $2.10) will jump on the bunny and prove hard to get past. Bjorn Baker trained gelding that resumed two weeks ago over 1400m here when leading throughout and he was quite dominant in the run to the line in a sharp display. The runner up, Estadio Mestalla, won last Saturday to frank the form, so that and good upside to come, this guy rates highly.
10 Floating (Bet Now: $6.00) is a beauty for Matty Smith. He won over 2000m a fortnight back here, getting the sweet sit in transit before angling clear and finished best to score. Back to the mile I find interesting but right down in the weights, hard fit, in form, I am sure he’ll be around the mark.
4 Lord Ardmore (Bet Now: $23.00) comes here with fresh legs for Chris Waller, having not raced since Jan 13 when placing in the January Cup at Rosehill in track record time, finding the line well enough but had his chance behind Naval College. Back to the mile suggests this is a prep run for something next start, but this isn’t an overly deep race.
Race 10. (17:55) Precise Air (Bm78) 1200m
3 Tintookie (Bet Now: $3.70) is third up from a spell and should just about be at peak fitness for Brad Widdup. This mare resumed with a bang when winning at Randwick before racing at Rosehill three weeks ago where she got on the wrong leg in the straight it seemed but balanced up again and was strong to the line in defeat behind Our Kobison. Like her up in trip and for mine, she’ll take beating.
8 Mrs Chrissie (Bet Now: $3.90) will jump on the bunny and prove hard to get past. She was a somewhat arrogant first up winner at Caulfield before going to Rosehill where she sat outside the speed and she tried her guts out but just found one better in surprise winner Diamond Dealer. She does have that 1200m run under the belt now, which should hold her in good stead for this.
2 Fire (Bet Now: $17.00) has found positive form and he can certainly go on with it. Big odds a fortnight back here but ran on quite well from just off the speed, having no answers for the finale of Bandi’s Boy. Third up from a spell so he should be at peak fitness and we know his best is good enough to be dangerous.
