10/1/2026 Horse Racing Tips and Best Bets – Murray Bridge

Eight races have been set down for Murray Bridge on Saturday. The weather is fine, the track is good (4) and the rail is out 5.5 metres for the entire circuit.

2 I Catchem Fox (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is three weeks between runs since a track/distance win when landing on speed and he was there to be beaten but he found under pressure to fend them off and score. Good racing style, claim, he’s a clear threat.

5 Surprise Coming (Bet Now:  $SP.00) ran over 1800m here three weeks back. He got into a decent spot in transit just off speed and tried hard but just couldn’t quite finish the race off behind Falaise. Good record here and I do think back in trip is a big tick.

4 Bolt By (Bet Now:  $SP.00) comes back to the mile after racing in the Bordertown Cup over 2000m. He got back in the run and while he was never really threatening, he kept chasing and was pretty good in defeat. Like him back in trip and his best is good enough to threaten.

7 Enuff Seduction (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is three weeks between runs since a win over 1000m here, giving them a start and a beating in an electric performance, producing a big finale from off speed to score. Good test here against likely types but really hard to knock the way he’s racing at the moment.

4 Wiggum (Bet Now:  $SP.00) comes through the Christmas Handicap from a fortnight back at Morphettville. He got back in the run and while he was never a winning threat, he did close off quite well late when fourth to Klabel. If within range, he has the finale to be dangerous.

1 Sir Now (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is several weeks between runs since racing in the Gytrash Final when finding a shifty track and he couldn’t quite pick up late behind Chicago Storm. He has been a barrier rogue since, but if he behaves himself, he clearly has the talent to win.

9 Cathay Express (Bet Now:  $SP.00) looks hard to beat after a debut over 1200m at Morphettville two weeks ago when on speed and tried hard but was clearly no match for impressive winner Yellowjacket. Back to 1100m, better for the run, she takes beating.

8 Carpe Astra (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is three weeks between runs since debuting over 1000m here. She landed in front and gave a good sight but had no answers for Tobikko and tired late to run third. Better for the run and I think with a bunny to chase, she’ll be more effective.

1 Nic The Cash (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is on the quick back up after racing over 1000m here on New Years Day, his first run for John Macmillan after formerly being with Team Hayes. He landed on speed and did try hard but just felt the pinch late. Better for the run, he’s in the mix.

2 Coorong Tycoon (Bet Now:  $SP.00) for me. He ran last Saturday at Gawler and was a real eye catcher from off speed, closing well when fourth to Mrs Penny Cracker, beaten under four lengths. 2/2 at th track/distance and off last start, the rise in trip looks ideal and strikes a winnable race.

1 Capulet (Bet Now:  $SP.00) steps up to 2000m after racing over 1800m at Morphettville two weeks ago. She gave a decent sight from on speed and tried hard but just felt the pinch late behind Komachi. Up in trip, fitter, good racing style, she’s in the mix.

6 Dolcemente (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is three weeks between runs since racing over 1800m here. She got back in the run and made up minimal headway in a plain effort behind Falaise. Like the rise to 2000m for her and yes, she has been plain this prep, but her best is clearly good enough.

3 Cielao (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is four weeks between runs since a win at Gawler, leading throughout and while she did have the track pattern in her corner, she found and was strong to the line. Should press forward from the gates and be hard to get past once again.

1 Captain Joolian (Bet Now:  $SP.00) has been kept on the fresh side since Nov 29 when an impressive winner over 1400m at Morphettville Parks, giving them a start and a beating in an impressive display. He has run well at Murray Bridge previously and he strikes a winnable race.

9 Rubini (Bet Now:  $SP.00) was big odds when resuming at Murray Bridge a few weeks back. He got back off speed before being presented wider for clear air and finished hard but had to settle for a second to Arcandam. Off that effort, he’s in the mix.

2 Garcon Renard (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is in the mix here for for Team Blanch. He ran over the mile two weeks ago at Morphettville when off speed and keen in the run. Despite that, he loomed large to win but just couldn’t quite get there when a close up fourth to Maxxi Bon. I think if he relaxes in the run, he’s good enough to win.

3 Royal Scripture (Bet Now:  $SP.00) has been hit and miss in his seven start career but he does look to have an engine under the hood. Loved the way he knuckled down to win on Boxing Day at Morphettville Parks, getting better as the race went on. Rising to 1600m should be fine, he has to be respected.

4 Saint Boom (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is hit and miss but is capable. She won well two back at Balaklava before going to Murray Bridge three weeks back where she got back off the speed and was never really a factor behind Extinguish. If she brings her best, she can win. But, I’d say more of a first four threat.

7 Daisydoo (Bet Now:  $SP.00) should be better for the first up run, which came three weeks back at this track/distance. She just got run off her legs early but she picked up and surged late when third to Enuff Seduction. Fitter, will be strong late, hard to beat.

4 Bristler (Bet Now:  $SP.00) lands on speed and takes running down. He ran over 1050m two weeks ago at Morphettville when on speed and he fought really hard but just had no answers late for Skipjack, who had the suck run in behind and finished best. Good racing style, he’ll be around the mark.

3 Been Our Angel (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is a short course specialist and appeals. He ran a fortnight back over 1050m at Morphettville, giving a good sight but just felt the pinch late. He is hit and miss at times but with his racing style, he’ll give himself every chance.

3 Purfect Line (Bet Now:  $SP.00) steps up to 1200m after a first up run over 1000m at Morphettville Parks on Boxing Day. He got wide in the run, with cover, and tried hard, but just couldn’t quite go on with it behind Wally West. Better run in transit, fitter, 1200m, he’s dangerous.

1 Fluttering Ruby (Bet Now:  $SP.00) won her opening two career starts before going to Morphettville two weeks ago when near the speed and tried hard but couldn’t quite see it through behind World’s My Oyster. Tricky gate, but this isn’t a deep race and prior efforts/wins were strong.

5 Accapella Moon (Bet Now:  $SP.00) had her first run for Hannah Bryce at Murray Bridge a few weeks back. The market backed her late at odds and while she did have her chance, I thought she was far from disgraced in defeat behind Angel Torque. Better for the run, she’s in the mix.
