Red Cadeaux has touched down in Singapore for the final leg of another worldwide tour for Ed Dunlop’s globetrotting superstar.

The 2011 Melbourne Cup runner-up claimed a brilliant victory in the Hong Kong Vase in December before running arguably the best race of his career when he beat all bar Animal Kingdom in the world’s richest race in March, the Dubai World Cup.

He was back over two miles (3200m) for the Tenno Sho at Kyoto in Japan late last month where he ran third.

The Singapore Airlines International Cup on May 19 is next on his agenda as he aims to add to his already considerable career earnings of well over STG3 million ($A4.62 million).

“He’s just arrived in Singapore and all is good with him so far, I believe,” Dunlop said.

“It was another good performance from him in Japan. Ratings-wise it wasn’t as good as his run in Dubai, but it was probably my biggest throw of the dice with him – running him over two miles on very fast ground against good horses.

“His run in Singapore will be the last leg of his tour and, yet again, he has been magnificent.”

After running in Singapore, Red Cadeaux will head back to his rarely-visited home in Newmarket and Dunlop is keen to see what sort of shape he returns in before making plans for a potential campaign in Europe.

“What he does when he gets home will totally depend on how he is,” said the trainer.

“I think we know by now he’s not a normal horse. He thrives on travelling and the question is will he thrive when he gets back home?

“We’ll just wait and see how he is. If he’s thriving, he has entries at Royal Ascot and other places, if he seems like he needs a break then he’ll get one.”
