Goldikova will attempt to get back to winning ways in Sunday’s Prix Rothschild at Deauville.
Freddie Head’s superstar came off second best in her clash with Canford Cliffs in the Queen Anne Stakes at Royal Ascot, with jockey Olivier Peslier putting up 2lb (1kg) overweight.
Having won the Prix Rothschild for the past three years, the six-year-old will certainly be returning to a place which holds happy memories.
She will be aiming to win her 14th Group One race as her campaign builds up towards yet another crack at the Breeders’ Cup Mile.
“It looks a good race with plenty of Group One winners in there,” Head said.
“She’s very well and I’ve been very happy with her since Ascot.
“Her training has been good and I still feel she’s as good as ever.
“We’ve got the pacemaker (Flash Dance) and she does her job well.
“Up against her own sex for the last few years she has been very hard to beat.
“Nova Hawk ran a nice race at Ascot and is improving but would need to improve again, you’d think, but you never know.
“There’s no invincible horses.
“If everything goes well she’ll go for the Jacques le Marois next.”
