2 Angels Fury (Bet Now: $1.70) has been highly regarded by Ciaron Maher since day one. Nothing went right on debut, was spelled. Resumed at Bendigo where she was an alarming drifter in betting but she defied that and won like a rocket. She is Stakes class for sure, quite keen on her prospects here and into the Spring.

6 Egyptian Dancer (Bet Now: $11.00) returned well two weeks back here over 1000m. She got off speed but worked home strongly when second to Lucky Brook. Better for the run, extra 100m, she’s one of the leading contenders.

11 Ole Affair (Bet Now: $35.00) was down the track behind Lucky Brook in the race mentioned above but I thought had excuses, getting off speed and despite having his chance, she was held up at times. Not sure she wins, but can run first four.

2 Zouper Fund (Bet Now: $4.40) should appreciate getting to 1100m after resuming over 1000m at Sandown where he just found them a bit sharp but liked the way he kept chasing and finding the line in defeat. Fitter, can settle closer and be strong at the end.

8 Stealth Of Night (Bet Now: $6.00) is a very genuine mare for Team Hayes that resumes. She hasn’t raced since Feb 21 over 1400m here when just off speed and tried hard but couldn’t quite finish the job behind Harry’s Yacht. Looks to have jumped out well, will press forward and be strong when it counts.

6 Luna Cat (Bet Now: $4.40) was a dynamic track/distance winner two weeks back, getting the suck run in behind before angling clear and she made a mess of them late. Her confidence is up, she can go on with it.

4 Celtics (Bet Now: $7.50) comes to town off the back of an encouraging fourth at Sale over this trip last time. He got a fair way out of his ground but kept chasing and finding the line in a good effort. If he can be within range, he’s got the finale to take this out.

5 Cruiserweight (Bet Now: $3.00) comes here off a mini freshen up after a first up win during the Swan Hill Carnival where class came to the fore. Looks to have jumped out well to tick over, she’s one of the leading contenders.

11 Sahres (Bet Now: $61.00) has done little wrong in a two start career. He didn’t beat much at Pakenham Synthetic last start but the manner in which he went about and how strong he was to the line…nice win and confident he can measure up and run well.

5 Brilliant Horizon (Bet Now: $5.50) each way for me. She comes back to 1100m after racing over 1200m at Sandown last start, leading and trying hard but just felt the pinch late. Like her back in trip, gets right down in the weights after the claim and I think with a bunny to chase, she’ll be more effective.

6 Lady Verity (Bet Now: $4.00) looks a good filly for Matt Laurie that resumes. She was 2/2 during the Summer and each time looked a pretty sharp type. Given a good break and looks to have jumped out super. Hard to beat.

3 Jenni The Ninja (Bet Now: $26.00) is three weeks between runs since resuming down the straight at Flemington where she found a bog track and couldn’t really pick her feet up in the conditions. Firmer deck you’d like to think, she can run a much improved race.

7 Stirrup Cup (Bet Now: $27.00) each way for me. He won two weeks ago at Morphettville, giving them a start and a beating in an impressive effort. He does seem a horse that needs to wind up so Froggy being booked is perfect and this is a race well within reach.

9 Prince Eric (Bet Now: $7.50) was a real eye catcher from two weeks ago at this track/distance, working home very strongly from near last against the pattern when third to Belle Savoir. If he can be within range, settle closer, he’ll be hard to hold out.

13 Tazaral (Bet Now: $41.00) should appreciate rising to 2000m after resuming over the mile at Warwick Farm where he got into a decent spot in transit but first up, condition blew out. Like the rise to 2000m, good upside and serious weight relief, he’s one for exotics.

1 Decalogue (Bet Now: $2.40) should take beating for Ciaron Maher after a couple of impressive wins over 2000m, firstly at Randwick before a romp at Flemington. He’s getting better with racing and is one of the leading contenders.

3 Our Chief (Bet Now: $5.00) is three weeks between runs since racing over this trip at Flemington. He attempted to lead throughout and tried hard but just couldn’t quite finish the job when second to Decalogue. I think with a bunny to chase, he’ll be far more effective and can win.

7 Paddypie (Bet Now: $7.50) ran third to Obvious three weeks ago at Flemington. He got into a decent spot in transit and was there to win I thought but when asked for the effort, the wheels were kind of spinning. Not sure I could back him to win but a must for exotics.

7 Sir Now… (Bet Now: $11.00) boy he’s a beauty. He was incredible in defeat two weeks back at Morphettville Parks, doing work to land on speed and with 63kg, he tried his absolute guts out but just missed. Gets good weight relief, hard fit, lands on speed and is tough. He’s a great gamble each way.

9 Bellatrix Star… (Bet Now: $11.00) is she back? Time will tell, but off her jumpouts, I think she’s going really well. Moved well to win a Cranbourne jumpout last week and with her absolute best, she would do a number on these, so I say watch betting.

1 Recommendation (Bet Now: $5.50) is generally hard to beat in these Winter Sprint races and commands respect after a good effort down the Flemington straight three weeks ago, trying hard from off speed but just missed behind De Bergerac. Good racing style, can settle on speed, hard to beat.

10 Ten Commandments (Bet Now: $2.40) is three weeks between runs since a win over this trip at Flemington, continuing his red hot patch where he lapped up the wet track and made a mess of them. His confidence is up, he is a leading chance despite a grade/depth rise.

6 Big Swinger… (Bet Now: $5.50) can make a case to say he wins here a fortnight back. Just didn’t quite get the rub of the green when it counted, surging late when second. Bursting to win and he strikes a winnable race here IMO.

9 Roadcone (Bet Now: $12.00) wasn’t too bad behind Coeur Volante two weeks back here, getting into a decent spot just off speed and tried hard but just whacked late. Think with a bunny to chase, he’ll be more effective and can take this out.

9 First Chorus (Bet Now: $2.70) is a great gamble here I find. Given the way the track played, her run was nearly best of the day two weeks ago here, working home strongly out wide in the quicksand. Clearly a harder assignment here, but she swims, she can settle closer, down in the weights…I think she’ll run a beauty.

12 Mometz (Bet Now: $7.50) ran a close up third to Stop The Rock a fortnight back here. He was off speed and spotted those in front a tidy start but loved the way he finished off. If he can settle closer, he’ll take holding out.

6 Wonder Kid (Bet Now: $51.00) steps up to 1700m after resuming three weeks back at Flemington over 1400m when clearly in need of the run behind Ten Commandments. Better set up for him here, he’s a definite improver.
