Belmont will conduct an eight event program on Saturday for Beaufine Stakes Day. The weather is fine, the track is soft (5) and the rail is out eight metres for the entire circuit.

Race 1. (14:48) Wittens Irrigation & Design Plate 1000m
1 Morning Thunder (Bet Now: $2.80) should take beating for Luke Fernie after a first up second at this track/distance two weeks ago, chasing strongly from off speed but found one better in Farnova. Fitter, firmer deck, he should take beating.
7 Rockin Serenity (Bet Now: $3.10) was a debut winner at this track/distance last Wednesday, sitting just off speed before being presented clear air and let down strongly under Pike to score. Good test here but think she’ll measure up and run really well.
6 Rosendo (Bet Now: $27.00) is a son of Palace Pier that debuts for Dan Morton. He’s had a couple of trials to get ready for start one and hasn’t looked too bad to my eye. I say watch the market and see what it does with him.
Race 2. (15:28) Tabtouch - Westspeed Platinum Hcp 1400m
3 Our Rocky Bay (Bet Now: $5.50) on top but no real interest. He ran over the mile here last Wednesday and tried hard but the end of 1600m on testing ground just found him out I thought. Like him back to 1400m and the track should be firmer.
7 Mia Gusto (Bet Now: $9.50) has been sneaky good in two runs back. Didn’t mind her effort here a fortnight back when off speed, doing work in the run but kept chasing in an effort where I thought she was far from disgraced. Hard to beat against these.
2 Ruler Rocket (Bet Now: $8.50) steps up to 1400m after racing over 1200m here two weeks back where he didn’t seem 100% happy on the wet track. Hopefully gets a firmer deck this time around, I say he’s dangerous against this lot.
Race 3. (16:04) Mc Polytrack Hcp 1200m
10 Deep Lyric (Bet Now: $3.10) steps up to 1200m after a debut second over 1000m here two weeks ago in a solid benchmark race, which was a big test. But, she handled it and just missed. Better for the run and good lead is that Pike sticks.
6 Common Touch (Bet Now: $2.50) has been pretty good this time in, winning 2/2, the latest seeing him lead throughout at Pinjarra and romped up in impressive fashion. Good test here but confident he can measure up.
9 Our Naughty Secret (Bet Now: $101.00) was 1200m back to 1000m when racing here two weeks back. She was just beaten for early toe but she kept on and was solid late in the piece. Like her back up to 1200m, she’s one of the leading contenders I feel.
Race 4. (16:39) Glenroy Chaff Hcp 1000m
5 Catch The Red Eye (Bet Now: $13.00) is worthy of an each way ticket. He resumed last Wednesday at this track/distance and was a real eye catcher from the back I thought when a close up fourth to Under Influence. Better for the run and with a drag into the race, he can launch late.
13 Excess Baggage (Bet Now: $13.00) is a Luke Fernie trained filly that resumes. She hasn’t raced since March 21 when midfield over 1200m at Ascot. Resumes without a public trial but has good talent so watch the market.
1 Military Power (Bet Now: $51.00) is a Jim Taylor trained gelding that resumes. His last run came on April 18 when down the track over 1000m at Ascot. He is a horse who can sprint well fresh and his recent trial here was quite good, so watch betting.
Race 5. (17:17) Morley Growers Market Hcp (66+) 2200m
2 First Encounter (Bet Now: $5.50) should take a power of beating here for Michael Grantham. He comes through the Listed South West Cup at Bunbury when keen off speed and I reckon that took something away from his finale. Back to this level is ideal and if he can harness his energy better, he’s a clear top seed.
1 Kisses From Kelly (Bet Now: $6.50) was ridden with intent a fortnight back when leading throughout to score over 2100m here. He got front end control and was too good in the run to the line. Off that effort, he commands respect.
5 I Love Your Smile (Bet Now: $16.00) was terrible behind Let’s Galahvant at Bunbury. She got back off speed and was never a factor when down the track. Back to benchmark grade, she is certainly good enough to threaten.
Race 6. (17:52) Mrs Mac's Hcp (66+) 1200m
10 Hedawood (Bet Now: $7.00) is hard to beat here. He ran fourth at this track/distance two weeks ago, working home strongly from the back in a good effort in defeat. If he can settle closer in the run, he’ll take holding out.
8 Magical Sequence (Bet Now: $3.70) is a Jason Miller trained mare that resumes. She did nice things when last in work, winning four of five runs. Spelled, given a good break and her trial win at Lark Hill was sharp, plus Pike is booked.
1 Ghost Who Walks (Bet Now: $151.00) is three weeks between runs since resuming over 1000m here when back near last in the run and failed to come on when down the track behind Baby Pearl. Fitter and up in trip, he should run a much improved race.
Race 7. (18:27) Beaufine Stakes 1000m
13 Madhi Girl (Bet Now: $4.80) looks the straight bat play. She resumes for Simon Miller, having not raced since the Scenic Blast in January when far from disgraced behind Jaz Session. Good fresh horse, looks to have trialled well and maps to park just off speed.
5 Repossession (Bet Now: $4.60) is a beauty for Team Gangemi that resumes. His last run came on Quokka Day in The Joey when a game second to Cessation. He does seem quite effective at 1000m and his trial work indicates he’s ready to go.
3 Snowdome (Bet Now: $67.00) is first up for Neville Parnham and is dangerous I feel. Good short course horse when right and he looked very sharp on Monday in a trial win, so despite the tricky gate, watch betting and see what happens.
Race 8. (18:57) Lawn Pride Australia Hcp 1400m
10 Reminiscence (Bet Now: $2.60) for me. 2/2 this time in for Team Williams, winning both here. First up, he gapped them over 1200m before a strong win at the midweeks over 1300m. 1400m should be fine, Pike is steering and seems the straight bat play.
6 Moonwalk (Bet Now: $8.50) is over two weeks between runs since a win at Pinjarra, giving them a start and a beating in an impressive effort. Proven Saturday metro performer, she commands respect against these.
5 Triple The Chant (Bet Now: $11.00) steps up to 1400m after a first up second over 1200m here, launching late from near last, just missing in a close finish. Good upside/improvement to come, I say she’s one of the hardest to beat at a price.
