Race 1. (21:40) Waglan Island Handicap (Class 5) 1000m
10 Timestorm (Bet Now: $SP.00) doesn’t win out of turn but I do think he strikes a winnable race here. He ran over 1200m at Sha Tin last time when a fair way off the speed but he did find the line well enough in defeat. Gate is tricky but with a drag into the race, he can finish over the top.
3 Modest Gentleman (Bet Now: $SP.00) ran second to Falcon Court, the same race mentored above that Timestorm contested. He got into a decent spot in transit and tried hard but just couldn’t quite see it through. He’s one of the leading contenders.
12 Wind Speeder (Bet Now: $SP.00) had done his recent racing at Sha Tin and hasn’t been too bad of late. Latest run, he got into a spot off the speed and kept finding the line without threatening. Likely spots them a start but should be strong at the end.
Race 2. (22:10) Soko Islands Handicap (Class 4) 1650m
11 Courier Magic (Bet Now: $SP.00) looks to have returned really well and should take beating. He resumed at this track/distance where he got a fair way back and while he was never a winning threat, he was quite good late in the piece. If he can naturally improve off that, he takes beating against these.
6 Good Luck Win (Bet Now: $SP.00) is racing well and should be around the mark. He ran over this track/distance two weeks ago where he was near the speed and tried hard but just couldn’t quite see it through. Tricky gate but will press forward and be around the mark.
4 Satirical Fan (Bet Now: $SP.00) is a Danny Shum trained gelding that resumes. He hasn’t raced since Jan 8 over 1200m where he was first up and far from disgraced in defeat. Resuming at the mile signals intent and his trial work has been sound.
Race 3. (22:40) Peng Chau Handicap (Class 4) 1200m
2 Motoman (Bet Now: $SP.00) seems the straight bat play for me. This guy has run over this track/distance his past few, the latest being three weeks ago when just off the speed snd tried hard but couldn’t quite get there. I think with a more positive ride, he’ll take beating against this lot.
4 Club Ace (Bet Now: $SP.00) hasn’t done much wrong in four career outings and is one of the leading contenders. He ran a fortnight back at this track/distance when landing near the speed and seemed to have his chance, just failing to see it through. Good racing style and trikes a winnable race.
9 Fashion Legend (Bet Now: $SP.00) is several weeks between runs since racing at Sha Tin where he got into a decent spot in transit but just couldn’t quite finish his race off. I do think his best is good enough to take this out.

5 Telecom Dragon (Bet Now: $SP.00) has a good track/distance record and I think will take a power of beating here. His latest run came over 1200m at Sha Tim where he got too far back in the run but closed his race off with purpose and was good in defeat. With a drag into the race, he’ll take beating.
4 Golden Friendship (Bet Now: $SP.00) is three weeks between runs since racing at this track/distance. He got into a decent spot just off the speed and I thought was there to threaten but just couldn’t quite finish the race off. Kind map in his corner, he is one of the key threats.
1 Find My Love (Bet Now: $SP.00) drops back to Class 4 grade after racing at Class 3 level over 1400m when outclassed but far from disgraced in defeat behind Light Years Charm. Much better set up here, his best is clearly good enough to take this out.
Race 5. (23:40) The Ireland Trophy (Class) 1650m
2 Thesis (Bet Now: $SP.00) has found winning form and he can go on with it. That win came three weeks ago at this track/distance when giving them a start and a beating to win narrowly but I thought impressively. Good upside/improvement to come, he takes beating I say from the draw.
4 The Azure (Bet Now: $SP.00) is dangerous. He ran over this track/distance a fortnight back where he just got too far out of his ground and while he was never a winning threat, you had to like the way he closed his race off in defeat. Should settle much closer in the run and be effective late.
7 Firefoot (Bet Now: $SP.00) ran down the track in the race mentioned above won by Thesis. He landed in a decent spot near the speed but was quite weak late. Perhaps with a more patient steer, he can run an improved race at odds.
Race 6. (00:10) Peng Chau Handicap (Class 4) 1200m
I like 3 Karate Express (Bet Now: $SP.00) here. Thought he was good in defeat two back at Sha Tin behind The Boom Box before going here where he got too far back but was an eye catcher late in the piece. Should be able to settle closer this time around snd take beating.
7 Mr Cool (Bet Now: $SP.00) is a son of Maurice that is on debut. He has had extensive trial work to get ready for start one and for the most to my eye, he has looked pretty good. Beautifully bred being out of the former good mare Niello, so keen to see how he goes.
2 Giant Leap (Bet Now: $SP.00) is three weeks between runs since racing at this track/distance where he was quite keen in the run, didn’t get the clearest of paths…I want to be forgiving of the down the track effort. His best is good enough so don’t dismiss him.
Race 7. (00:45) Cheung Cheu Handicap (Class 3) 1200m
1 Youthful Spirits (Bet Now: $SP.00) on top in an open race. He does tend to race best at 1000m vs 1200m, as seen recently with good efforts at this track/distance. Just hoping for his sake that the track is suiting leaders snd he can pinch it.
7 Happy Fat Cat (Bet Now: $SP.00) will be the other key speed influence and he is racing in pretty good form at present, albeit not winning, the latest run being at this track/distance when leading and just feeling the pinch late. His racing style will give him every chance of winning I say.
2 Eason (Bet Now: $SP.00) has a tricky draw to overcome but does have the engine under the hood to take this out. He ran last Wednesday at this track/distance and I thought had his chance but that race carried far more depth vs this, so if he can overcome the gate, he can win for sure.

He is on the seven day back up after racing last Wednesday at this track/distance when off speed and chased strongly but was beaten a lip by Romantic Son in a close finish. Hard fit, in form, kind map, takes beating I say.
1 Sports Legend (Bet Now: $SP.00) is also on the seven day back up, with this guy also racing at this track/distance last Wednesday. He attempted to lead throughout and gave a strong kick from the front but just couldn’t quite see it through when second to Spicy Gold. He’ll land on speed and give a good sight.
10 Young Arrow (Bet Now: $SP.00) is capable of a forward showing with his best. He ran three weeks back at this track/distance when off speed and kept chasing without threatening. Not sure he is good enough to win but I’d say is a must include in exotics.
Race 9. (01:50) Ap Lei Chau Handicap (Class 3) 1800m
4 Star Mac (Bet Now: $SP.00) looks a great way to end the program for David Hayes. Thought he was very good in defeat three weeks ago here when a mile off them but closed with purpose late when third to Fallon. More kind map in his corner this time around and a recent tick over trial was quite good.
6 Fallon (Bet Now: $SP.00) won that race mentioned above from three weeks ago and it was overdue given how well he had been racing without winning. Tricky map here but the way he’s racing, he has to be respected.
5 Allcash (Bet Now: $SP.00) looks suited up in trip I say. He had his first look at the Sha Tin dirt last start where he was quite keen in the run behind the speed and tried hard but the early burn just told on him late. Don’t think he wins but could pinch a first four spot.
