Despite giving the racing world a scare in the Warwick Stakes where she missed the jump by four lengths settling at the back of the field and only narrowly beating her stablemate Foxplay on the line she has pulled up in great order says trainer Chris Waller.
It was Winx’s narrowest win in her 18 race winning streak but arguably her best with the champion mare having to overcome an almost impossible position after bundling the start to run down some pretty smart horses who had a lot of favours with a strong tailwind.

But with any horse a blunder like hers could be due to an issue, we saw this with Black Caviar when she only narrowly beat Wanted in the Danehill Stakes and a post race veterinary report showed she had pulled the muscle off her bone and was spelled for four months.
Luckily that is not the case with Winx, Chris Waller confirming this morning she pulled up the best she ever has following her Warwick Stakes win and will press onto the Chelmsford Stakes on September 2nd as planned before targeting a third Cox Plate.
“I guarantee it is the best she has ever pulled up after a first-up run” Chris Waller on the win of Winx.
