The richest thoroughbred race ever held in Western Australia will run during an action-packed weekend this autumn.
The launch of slot racing in WA features The Quokka at Ascot Racecourse, offering total prize money of $4 million. The race is a key part of The Western Trilogy series, which brings thoroughbred, harness and greyhound races together for Australia’s first tri-code slot racing event.
The thoroughbred race has been named after Western Australia’s beloved quokka, known as the world’s happiest animal and a favourite for holiday selfies at Rottnest Island.
History will be made as the best of the west take on the rest over 1200m at Ascot on Saturday, 15 April 2023 under weight-for-age conditions.
Expressions of interest are being sought to be involved in this exciting opportunity, with 14 slots up for grabs at a cost of $200,000 per slot.
