Star Western Australian sprinter Showmanship who was favourite for Saturday’s Group One Sir Rupert Clarke Stakes has been ruled out of the remainder of the spring due to injury.
The Grant and Alana Williams trained sprinter will miss the remainder of the spring after suffering a tendon injury in training this week.
Showmanship was the $3.00 favourite with Sportsbet for this weekends Group One Sir Rupert Clarke Stakes at Caulfield after having won his two starts in Melbourne since travelling over from Perth.
Owner-breeder Bob Peters is still accessing how bad the injury is saying it was an unusual tendon injury.
“It’s a bit of a different one. One tendon is a lot thicker than the other one.
“I haven’t experienced one of these before. I’ve had longitudinal ones and plenty of tears, but they are hard to measure these ones.” Peters told Racing.com.
