Multiple Group One winner Te Akau Shark has been retired due to complications of a serious eye infection.
The dual Group One Trans-Tasman winner has been officially retired with the news announced on the Te Akau twitter account this morning.
Te Akau Shark won the G1 Chipping Norton Stakes in the Autumn before placing in the George Ryder Stakes and running a credible fifth in the Queen Elizabeth Stakes which will go down as his last run.
