When the tiny face of Alexis Angland banged the gavel down at the Magic Millions Broodmare Sale yesterday, she smiled.
The tiny young daughter of wounded warrior, jockey Tye Angland, was asked to sign off on the final auction sale of the many noms to stallions gifted to Tye Angland and his family.
She smiled a very wide, toothless grin as the announcement was made β the noms all added up sold for $283,500.
βTye and I are beyond grateful for the generosity shown by everyone involved,β said Erin Angland who was also at the magic Millions sale yesterday.
βWe are so humbled to have the support shown to our family.
βThe simple words of thank you just arenβt enough.β
The Mitchell family of Yarraman Park stud put the idea to rival farms and Magic Milliuons to do this for the Angland family, and several farms offered noms for the cause.
Dundeel was the top fee to go at $100,000.
Gr 1 Golden Slipper winning sire Sidestep went for $25,000.
The other stallions were Hellbent, Press Statement; Tosen Stardom; Capitalist; Encryption and Mendelssohn.
