Embattled racehorse owner Allan Endresz likes to stay on the front foot, but he once again finds himself having to try to weave and bob as he tries to slip the body blows thrown by Racing Victoria whose authority currently continues to block the participation of horses in the upcoming Spring Carnival in Victoria in which Endresz owns a majority ownership.
After being banned from racing horses in Victoria on a majority ownership basis, Endresz put forward the proposal that he would give fifteen percent of the ownership of the Stradbroke winner Alligator Blood to Living Legends … as a gift … which would reduce him to a minority shareholder in the horse.
Racing Victoria has now rejected that offer stating that Endresz’s proposal did not suitably address their areas of concern, ie the ‘full compliance with the Minority Exemption’ and the ‘the bankrupt ownership issue or ownership ascertainment issue’ which Racing Victoria had detailed in a formal communication to Endresz earlier this month.
Never one to lie down, Endresz has said, as reported by Racing.com, that he now intends putting in place another plan in which the full one hundred percent ownership of Alligator Blood will be transferred to another identity.
Endresz has suggested that ownership role will be taken up by a prominent racing identity, but he chose not to reveal any names at this stage and will not do so until all of the contracts have been signed and all of the paperwork had been completed.
Going on past history, just what unfolds next in the Alligator Blood saga is anybody’s guess … but it has to be taken as a given that trainers Gai Waterhouse and Adrian Bott will be working hard behind the scenes to have Alligator Blood cherry-ripe to race over the Spring Carnival if that green light ever comes on.
