New Zealand has been installed favourite for the fourth annual State Of Origin Jockeys Series at Doomben.

TAB posted a market on Thursday with the kiwi team of Damian Browne and Jason Collett at $3.30.

TAB spokesperson Nicole Thomas said market assessors believed the New Zealand team had the most even book of rides over the five heats.

“The NSW team of Corey Brown and Brad Stewart have a solid book of rides and they are second favourites at $3.70,” she said.

Queensland are equal third favourites at $5 on the basis of a slight home advantage.

Defending champions Victoria are also at $5.

The riders engaged in the series made public appearances on Thursday before they get down to business at the Doomben twilight meeting on Friday with three heats to be followed by another two the following day.

The market: $3.30 New Zealand $3.70 NSW $5 Queensland, Victoria $7 South Australia $8 Tasmania.
