Ciaron Maher has secured a second slot for The Supernova, set to run on December 21, 2024, at Pakenham Racecourse.
The $1 million, 1400-meter race marks the second leg of Southside Racing’s lucrative slot series.
Maher’s contenders include Nadal, winner of The Meteorite, who fills his personal slot, and Chorlton Lane, chosen by the Moonee Valley Racing Club (MVRC) for their slot.
A 5-year-old by Mehmas, Chorlton Lane recently impressed with a win in the $200,000 Canberra Community Chest over 1400 meters.
MVRC’s Head of Racing, Charlotte Mills, expressed confidence in the pairing. “Chorlton Lane heads to Pakenham in terrific form. It’s exciting to partner with the Ciaron Maher stable, and a win would be a fantastic result for his large ownership group.”
