One of the key International Melbourne Cup contenders have been ruled out of the race after the horse suffered a temperature preventing the horse going into quarantine.
German galloper Torcedor who sat on the second line of Melbourne Cup betting will not head to Australia after an announcement by Jamie Lovett that the horse could not enter quarantine due to a spike in his temperature following a disappointing run on the weekend.
Connections had only recently purchased the horse in what has been rumoured to be a seven figure deal.

Disappointing news from Jamie Lovett @Austbloodstock this morning. Torcedor has suffered a spike of temperature since Sundayβs Group One in Germany. Couldnβt enter quarantine. Not coming for Melbourne Cup.
