Group 1-winning jockey Daniel Moor has been taken to hospital with a suspected hip injury following a fall at Bendigo on Wednesday.
The incident occurred before the running of Race 5, when Moor was dislodged from his mount, Moonraker, while heading to the barriers at the regional Victorian track.
Trackside medical staff responded quickly, assessing the 40-year-old on course before arranging for him to be transported for further evaluation.
โAfter an incident on the way to the gates, Dan Moor is to be transported to hospital for scans. Complaining of hip pain,โ the Victorian Jockeys’ Association confirmed in a statement.
Moor, a seasoned rider with four Group 1 victories to his name, is well regarded in the industry and has enjoyed a consistent presence in major races across the country.
While the extent of the injury remains to be seen, racing fans and fellow jockeys will be hoping for a swift recovery for the accomplished hoop.
