It’s been 30 years since Melbourne’s champion rider, Damien Oliver, has landed the coveted Gr 1 Caulfield Guineas.
But he could very well add another one to his resume this year after Sydney’s superstar trainer Chris Waller booked him on boom colt MO’UNGA (Savabeel-Chandelier).
Market 💰: View the Odds for the Caulfield Guineas
The unbeaten colt, winner of three from three so far in his career, looked The Autumn Sun-like when he charged home at Rosehill last start to easily and impressively win the the Listed Dulcify Stakes over 1500m.
That day James McDonald ride him making it three different riders in succession.
Oliver makes the fourth!
Because regular Waller rider Hughie Bowman is occupied riding the smart Team Snowden 3YO King’s Legacy in the race, Oliver has been appointed.
Thirty years back he landed the race on CENTRO.
Kinda coincidentally, The Autumn Sun won a race at Rosehill the start before claiming the Caulfield Guineas.
