Esteemed Australian jockey, Damian Lane, is gearing up for a shot at his sixth G1 victory in Japan this Sunday as he takes the reins of Serifos in the prestigious G1 Yasuda Kinen.
Lane is hot on the heels of a triumph in last week’s Tokyo Yushun aboard Tastiera, marking his fifth elite-level win in Japan.
Lane and Serifos have previously demonstrated their winning synergy in the G1 Mile Championship last year.
However, the competition will be fierce in the Yasuda Kinen with the likes of the esteemed mare Sodashi, and 2021’s G1 NHK Mile Cup winner, Schnell Meister.
As of Sunday morning, Serifos has been pegged as the third pick in the Japanese betting stakes for the race with odds at $6.00.
The Yasuda Kinen, the eleventh race on the Tokyo schedule, is due to start at 4:40pm AEST.
