Coolmore Stud revealed its eagerly awaited stallion roster and service fees for 2025 on Sunday evening, showcasing a mix of proven performers and three promising new additions, all underpinned by a theme of value for breeders.
“The 2025 Coolmore Australia stallion roster is one of immense quality, that we are extremely proud to offer to breeders throughout Australia and New Zealand. We thought long and hard when setting our fees this year, with a strong focus on offering value to breeders. We understand that people are doing it tough, but we want to work with them and see them prosper,” said Tom Magnier.
Despite softening in some yearling sale markets around the country, Coolmore highlighted the strength of the recent Inglis Easter Yearling Sale, where exceptional demand saw record-breaking results and reaffirmed confidence in high-end bloodstock.
“While many sales throughout the country have seen slight downturns this year, we have just witnessed one of the strongest Inglis Easter Sales in living memory, meaning that demand for quality stock is stronger than ever. The fact that almost a quarter of the yearlings catalogued at Easter were by Coolmore Australia stallions is hugely significant.”
For breeders considering the future, these figures offer reassurance. With foals conceived in the upcoming breeding season headed to yearling sales in 2028, predicting value now is critical.
“We’ve set these fees to give our clients targeting a broader spectrum of sales the ability to have access to stallions who can excel at any sale throughout Australia and New Zealand, particularly horses like Pierro and So You Think who are genuinely elite stallions that are capable of producing Group 1 horses more regularly than most.”
Home Affairs, whose first crop yearlings have made headlines in 2025 with sales reaching as high as $3.2 million, will remain at a service fee of $82,500. The fees for exciting young stallions Shinzo ($55,000) and St Mark’s Basilica ($38,500) also remain unchanged, indicating Coolmore’s long-term confidence in their potential.
Meanwhile, proven Group 1-producing sires So You Think and Pierro will have their fees reduced this season, now standing at $44,000 and $33,000 respectively. Both stallions have continued to deliver elite-level success on the track, enhancing their appeal to breeders looking for consistent quality and affordability.
