Brisbane’s apprentice ranks have received a further boost with leading central Queensland rider Quayde Krogh moving to Brisbane.

Krogh has linked with former champion jockey Chris Munce and rode First Crush for the trainer at Doomben on Saturday.

Originally apprenticed on the Gold Coast, Krogh has been riding out of Rockhampton for the past two years and has had considerable success on the provincial circuit.

He has ridden 161 winners but can still claim three kilograms in the metropolitan area.

Munce believes Krogh can be an instant success in Brisbane.

“He has ridden all over the state. He is a hard worker and can ride light,” Munce said.

Another former central Queensland apprentice Zoe White has moved her indentures to Dale and Bill Healey on the Sunshine Coast.

She rode a winner for the Healey combination on Tapa at Grafton last week.

White, who was central Queensland’s leading rider last season, had a stint with Tony Gollan at Eagle Farm before making the switch.

Brisbane’s apprentice ranks have swelled in recent weeks with Boris Thornton and Taylor Marshall shifting to Eagle Farm stables from Melbourne.

Marshall had a huge and noisy cheer squad on a hand when he rode his first Brisbane winner on Cornrow on Saturday.

“It was a bit like a Melbourne Cup reception,” Cornrow’s co-trainer Will Hulbert said.

Marshall’s father John rode Rogan Josh to win the 1999 Melbourne Cup.
