Surprise Baby will look to gain a Melbourne Cup start at Flemington

A big field has accepted for Saturday’s Listed Andrew Ramsden Stakes with trainers looking to win their way into the Melbourne Cup on the first Tuesday in November.

The Andrew Ramsden Stakes  is raced over 2800m at Flemington and gives the winner a ballot exempt start into the 2019 Melbourne Cup so there are no surprises a full field will go around in the race on Saturday.

Despite the ticket into the Melbourne Cup it looks a relatively weak field with Eastender, Steel Prince and Surprise Baby set to battle out favouritism.
