Apprentice Ben Knobel has been suspended for three weeks after pleading guilty to a handling charge.
Knobel was penalised for failing to take all reasonable and permissible measures necessary to give Glacier King his best chance of winning at Geelong.
He was charged after the Peter White-trained three-year-old finished fifth in the JP Lult Smith Super VOBIS 3YO Maiden Plate (1300m) on March 19.
The adjourned inquiry was completed on Monday after evidence was taken from Knobel, his master Mick Price and Victorian Jockeys Association chief Des O’Keefe.
Submissions were also tendered on behalf of Knobel from trainer Tony Noonan, former jockey Greg Childs and Racing Victoria’s jockey welfare and safety officer Ron Hall.
White gave evidence at the Geelong meeting along with Andrew Mallyon who represented Knobel on the day.
Stewards found that from the 130-metre mark until the winning post Knobel failed to make sufficient effort to improve his position between Forced Salute and Toolachee when he had the opportunity to do so.
