Emerging Victorian trainer Ben Brisbourne has announced a major expansion of his operation, securing a base at Flemington to complement his existing facilities at Wangaratta and Eldorado.
The English-born conditioner, who enjoyed Group 2 success with Grinzinger Heart in the VRC Sires’ Produce Stakes earlier this year, has taken on 18 boxes at Melbourne’s premier racecourse.
Brisbourne said the move marks an important step in the growth of his stable.
“This move allows the stable to expand and secure a base in the Melbourne metropolitan area, offering the opportunity for our horses to utilize the world class facilities available at headquarters and easier logistical access to surrounding metro and provincial tracks, synthetic tracks in the winter and twilight and night meetings in the summer,” Brisbourne said.
“We have put together an exceptional team of staff, headed by assistant trainer April Moran, with the first horses set to move in today.
“Operations will continue as normal at our main stable in Wangaratta, and our private spelling and training facility in Eldorado, with its uphill deep sand tracks, continues to prove to be a vital asset in our horses’ training programs.”
The stable has been building momentum in recent seasons, with Brisbourne also preparing promising Shamus Award filly Salann, who has placed at stakes level in both Victoria and New South Wales.
Since taking out his licence in 2018, Brisbourne has trained 301 winners and continues to establish himself as a rising force in Victorian racing.
