Despite being by far the best backed runner in the Group One Australian Derby the Kris Lees trained filly Frankely Awesome will be saved for the Australian Oaks next weekend.
Frankely Awesome opened at $11 with bookmakers on Tuesday for the Australian Derby but bookies have seen a flood of money come for the talented filly who has shortened into $5.50 although the confidence of punters hasn’t changed Lees’ mind who will opt to run her in next weekends Australian Oaks instead as he was not 100% happy with how she pulled up from her run in the Vinery Stud Stakes on the weekend.
