Alligator Blood is no certainty to run in the $5m All Star Mile
Trainer David Vandyke has not fully committed star three-year-old to the $5m All Star Mile and could instead miss the race with an aim to target the horse to The Everest in the Spring.
Vandyke will make a decision on the $5m All Star Mile following Alligator Blood’s run in Saturday’s G1 Australian Guineas over the mile at Flemington based on how the horse runs and how he recovers following the run.
Alligator Blood topped the voting in this years All Star Mile and is guaranteed a spot in the race if connections opt to race him where he is the current favourite at $4.60 with Ladbrokes.
Alligator Blood is also set to secure a slot in The Everest during the Spring with negotiations on a slot ongoing but could be finalised next week with the other goal race being The Golden Eagle.
