Winx has left us all with myriad memories.
All good. Some even spectacular.
And she should again in the Gr 1 Queen Elizabeth Stakes on Saturday.
But in real life terms, in reality, in hard copy version, in something tangible we can all keep, from her race track days, I’m suggesting what she did in front of the media on Wednesday…should stay put.
For those who don’t know, she lashed out, collected a Longines sign, smashed a hole in it and that’s the thing I’m talking about.
The ATC should leave the sign in place for all the world to see. Future generations will know she was something special. Maybe even erect another sign and attach it on top saying – Winx Was Here 10-4-2019.
No horse has ever graced Rosehill where the indiscretion took place, that was better than her.
And this is the track where she was trained her whole life. It should stay, dented in its full glory. It seems appropriate.
There has been calls via social media to tear it down and sell to the highest bidder with the money going to charity. Nice and all….but from an historic stand point it should stay where it is.
What do you think?
