Tabcorp will begin testing its National Tote on Thursday, with Warwick’s thoroughbred meeting hosting the first race to operate through the new unified wagering system.
The September 24 testing program will extend across all three racing codes, with harness racing at Tamworth and greyhound racing at Mount Gambier also included on the opening day.
The trials represent the first operational stage of Tabcorp’s approved testing schedule ahead of the planned introduction of its One Pool system.
Once One Pool is operating across all meetings, Sky Racing broadcasts will display two wagering columns featuring TAB Fixed Odds alongside the new One Pool prices.
A full day of domestic testing is scheduled for Monday, September 28, before a potential formal launch the following weekend.
Tabcorp is provisionally targeting October 3 and 4 for the rollout, although the launch remains subject to the results of the testing program.
The One Pool system will merge wagering currently directed into the NSW TAB pool with the separate SuperTAB and UniTAB pools.
The change is designed to create a larger national pari-mutuel wagering market across thoroughbred, harness and greyhound racing.
