Silver Shadow Stakes Form Guide
1. ICHIHARA
Alan Denham’s filly returns to racing after having recorded three wins from four starts in her initial prep, among them the G2 Magic Night Stakes. A professional daughter of General Nediym, she’ll scoot along from the inside draw and with two trial wins under her belt (the latest by 3 ¼ ) she’ll be in this for a long way.
Odds: $5.50
2. FLYING SNITZEL
Won the G3 The Scweppes (1400m) at Rosehill in April at her third run in that prep. Her tally now stands at two wins (the other was her debut win in a Canterbury Maiden) from her six career starts. Expect her to settle off the speed and first up over this trip, don’t know if she’ll be able to run a couple of the speedier ones down.
Odds: $12.50

3. JADE MARAUDER
Won the G3 Sweet Embrace before running second last in the Golden Slipper and being spelled. Filly by Fastnet Rock that can produce a big finish and given the speed in this race should be genuine from the outset, she’ll be doing her best work late.
Odds: $16.00
4. DEAR DEMI
Had plenty of racing in her two year old season (8 starts) and performed well winning the Listed Fernhill Quality (1400m) and recording a second to Pierro in the G1 Champagne Stakes (1600m). Only the one trial for her comeback here and her two year record leads to believe that she may need this run and a little bit further.
Odds: $21.00

5. MAMA’S CHOICE – SCRATCHED
6. SINGLE STYLE
When last raced, won the Listed Keith Mackay at Randwick in April beating Driefontein in the process. That made it two wins from three starts. The filly by Not A Single Doubt has had two barrier trials in preparation for her return and also has the services of Chris Munce. Expect her to go forward from her draw and give plenty of cheek.
Odds: $7.00
7. CAVALRY ROSE
From the Gerald Ryan yard, the Charge Forward filly won her first two career starts before good efforts in the Black Opal (4th, beaten 1.6), Magic Night (2nd, beaten a nose) and Golden Slipper (8th, beaten 4.1) Finished fifth in her trial behind Snitzerland and All Too Hard at the start of the month and fancy she wouldn’t have to have improved much over her break to maker her presence felt her.
Odds: $15.00

8. SHEROCKSMYWORLD
She was gallant in defeat last start when she gave the winner 4kg and only failed by a lip. That was a BM 75 event so she’s stepping up significantly in grade. From her draw she’ll push forward but doubt she’ll be able to hold a few of these off late.
Odds: $26.00
9. MEIDUNG
Won on debut in October last year, was spelled and returned in March for a three start campaign that culminated in a close third in the Kith Mackay behind Single Style. Has been brought only very patiently by her trainer Pete Snowden and had the customary one quiet trial in readiness for this event. From her gate, she’s not to be overlooked.
Odds: $12.00

10. NECHITA
She was super impressive in winning her only start to date. That was here at Warwick Farm back in June where she showed a good turn of foot to win by 3.5 lengths beating the speeding Diamond Earth. The daughter of Fastnet Rock who is out of handy race mare Artistique has come up odds on in early markets – $1.95.
Odds: $1.95
OVERVIEW
Good group of fillies here with all bar one (Sherockmyworld) returning to racing. That makes it hard not only for the punter to line up the form, but also for the bookies to post a market. Is Nechita the right price? There’s no doubting her ability but she comes up some good fillies here that have some runs on the board. At $1.95, I’ll be happy to look on. Single Style and Ichihara will lead the way and both – at $5.50 and $7.00 respectively, have genuine chances, especially if any track bias has favoured those on pace in previous races. Cavalry Rose and Meidung at double figure odds should be thrown into any multiples for some value.
