Very surprised to see this horse at $4.00, because I had him marked at around $3 and perhaps shorter. His run at Randwick a fortnight back was full of merit given he sat outside a brutal tempo, absorbed it, beat off the leader and it took an in form galloper to knock him off. Career best efforts have come at the Rosehill 1500m, he maps well, 3kg claim for Heywood…ticks alot of boxes.
Eagle Farm Race Two Number 9 Porcini ($8.00):
Punters at Sportsbet are keeping their powder dry when it comes to the juvenile race at Eagle Farm this Saturday, but don’t be surprised to see money for this bloke. Bolted up in a trial last week at Deagon and did it under a hold. Stable are going well with their youngsters and this colt looks another.
Morphettville Parks Race Three Number 2 Tunes ($13):
This does look a very thin race, so I am surprised to see this horse at around the $13 mark. He ran last Saturday and was far from disgraced after sitting on speed and fighting on very well in a race that had more depth than what he faces here. The claim for Poon really helps, maps well and is tough, tough, tough.
