Following the announcement of first acceptances, Aryaaf, Dame Giselle and Hanseatic have opened $11 equal favourites for the 2020 Blue Diamond at Caulfield on Saturday, February 22.
Aryaaf made an impression on Melbourne Cup Day when victorious over Muntaseera and Marchena in the Ottawa Stakes, which was the opening race at Flemington on the first Tuesday in November.
Hanseatic was heavily fancied at Sandown last Saturday and the support was justified as he overpowered his rivals in the Merson Cooper Stakes.
Hanseatic is trained by Anthony Freedman, who was successful in this year’s Blue Diamond with the filly Lyre.
Even though she has been nominated for the Blue Diamond Stakes, Dame Giselle may be saved for the Golden Slipper as she has already qualified after winning the Golden Gift at Rosehill on November 9.
Amongst the $15 chances are Maribyrnong Plate winner Hard Landing, placegetters Baaqyah and Tagaloa and Inglis Banner winner Ideas Man.
