There were some pretty solid performances at the Warwick Farm trials on February 27, including the worlds best sprinter. So who caught our eye the most? Find out who down below.

Warwick Farm- Friday, February 27: Weather Fine, Track Soft 5.
Heat Two- Aperchoix (1st):
Really interesting unraced colt for Clarry Conners who has trial form behind the likes of Brazen Beau and Delectation. He looked quite impressive in this trial, jumping well from the gates to lead throughout, and win by over six lengths, running the equal fastest time of the morning for that distance.
Heat Four- Magic Archer (1st):
I was quite taken by his effort here. He settled last in the run before peeling out wide to possibly the best part of the track and letting down very strongly under no pressure at all. He beat home three Group l performers, and keep in mind he is a stayer. Very impressive.
Heat Six- Ionian Sea (2nd):
Unraced daughter of Ben Danoro who hadn’t shown much in the trials prior to this effort here. She got back in the run before pinching ground near the inside coming to the turn, then peeling out halfway down the straight and finding the line strongly under no pressure. Impressive hitout and a good improvement from previous efforts.
Heat Seven- Terravista (1st):
His first trial was inconclusive, but looked much better here. He jumped well to settled midfield, spotting Rain Affair and Va Pensiero a few lengths before Bowman peeled him wide on the turn, and under some riding, he finished best to narrowly win. He won, but I wouldn’t say he was overly impressive. Good enough but.
Heat Eleven- Antelucan (1st):
Clearly the best of the morning, and by a long way. She just travelled so sweetly in the run for McDonald, settling a touch better than midfield before peeling wide and going to the line under triple wraps to win. She’s a serious Slipper prospect.
Heat Fourteen- Furnaces (1st):
First up run was average, but he looked outstanding in this trial, sitting outside Paceman all the way and going on to win brilliantly under a big grip from McDonald while Paceman was under hard riding, and would be lucky to win a Taree maiden on the effort he produced. Furnaces is back on track in terms of Slipper calculations.
