One of the feature races at Caulfield this Saturday is the Futurity Stakes (1400m), where Treasurethe Moment dominates the market in the small field.

2026 Futurity Stakes Runner Preview:
1. Pericles: Class horse in his own right and did place in this race last year. Looks to have trialled up very well in readiness for the return, parks in behind the speed…commands respect.
2. Buckaroo: He is a very good horse that is better suited over further but we know Waller in these Group l races, they rarely run poorly. Does he win? No. But he can run first four at a decent price.
3. Evaporate: If he is going to win a Group l, it’s here. Looks completely prepped up for a first up assault, stable is FLYING…me personally, I don’t think he is quite up to this level.
4. Veight: Hasn’t been too bad in two runs this prep but not going well enough IMO to threaten these.
5. Watch Me Rock: Watch Me Rock is a fascinating runner. WA star that is Mark Walker after being with Team Williams. Railway winner that went within a lip of winning the Northerly but found Cosmic Crusader too good. Trialled up super, I think he can measure up and run well.
6. Feroce: Looked the winner of the Kevin Heffernan but just found Tom Kitten too good. Harder here and yes has a kind map, but a first four threat at absolute best.
7. Treasurethe Moment: Treasurethe Moment looks ready to rock and roll for Matt Laurie. She had a mixed Spring, but did start it with an absolute bang when a track/distance winner of the Memsie in stunning fashion. Looks prepped right up for a fresh assault and has to be rated as the one to beat.

9. Leica Lucy: I think Leica Lucy is here to play. Chris Waller could have easily kept her in Sydney, but there is clear intent to resume here and head down the path of potentially the All Star Mile/Australian Cup. Trialled up very well to my eye in Sydney and we’ve seen this stable already this Autumn, they can get the big guns to fire first up. I think she’ll do me each way.

I think D Lane will ride Treasurethe Moment like the best horse in the race, landing in front. That should give Evaporate the ideal drag across and from there, that pair should get front end control. Feroce and Pericles park in behind.
