One of the feature races at Randwick this Saturday is the Furious Stakes (1200m), where the market says it is an open contest.

2026 Furious Stakes Runner Preview:
1. Chayan: Talent wise, I think she’s nearly top seed, but her trials, her work, the wide gate…happy to watch her.
2. Pembrey: Hard to ignore what Pembrey did in the Silver Shadow. She did get front end control but the way she dashed and motored away from her rivals…it was stunning. Staying at 1200m, similar field…if it reads as simple as it does on paper, it’s rinse, repeat, she wins again.
3. Chilly Girl: Liked the way she knuckled down to win The Rosebud, but she only run down Blue Door, who I think isn’t as good as what some are thinking. Talented, but I do feel she’s short enough.
4. Cherry Bomshell: Too bad to be true in the Silver Shadow. If she brings her best, she can be quite dangerous at odds.
5. Rachini: Rachini is a very good filly for Bjorn Baker that resumes. This girl is first up, having not raced since the Percy Sykes where she backed up from the Sires and was a tired horse. Given a good break, trialled super and has been given a good grounding for mine.
6. Bangkok Hottie: Bangkok Hottie wouldn’t have beaten Pembrey in the Silver Shadow but if she drew a decent gate, I think she goes close. She was very good against the race shape, closing with real purpose. If she can settle closer, she’s dangerous.
7. Screen Icon: Just fair in the Silver Shadow and while firmer footing helps, she needs to improve too much.
8. Krasina: Not up to these.
9. Oh Yes She Did: Good late, though safely held, in the Quezette. Maps to do no work, could pinch first four.
10. Striking Alibi: WA filly who has a bit of hype around her and from an SP angle, she commands respect…but I am happy to just watch.

$70 Win Pembrey, $5 Win/$25 Place Rachini

Pembrey, I think, gets front end control, based on the Silver Shadow. Striking Alibi and Chilly Girl will settle handy but I doubt they will want to put any real pressure on, so I suspect the Queensland filly leads comfortably.
