Civic Stakes favourite heavily backed

Taksu is favourite with Ladbrokes.com.au for the feature race at Randwick this afternoon, the Civic Stakes (1400m).

The Joe Pride trained gelding found the track too firm at Eagle Farm last time and will appreciate getting onto a track with more give. Opened $6 and is now the $4.80 favourite.

Oscar Zulu has been well tried, into $6 from $8.50. He sits on the second line of betting alongside a stablemate of Taksu, Mariamia.
