Headwater has already received backing in the Group Two Todman Stakes that looks to be shaping as a mini preview of the Golden Slipper. The race features a small field of five, but has three of the main Slipper hopes in Headwater, Vancouver, and Furnaces.

Headwater opened at $2.00 with online bookmaker Sportsbet but that price was quickly taken. The Colt who stamped himself as the Golden Slipper favourite after his outstanding win in the Silver Slipper has been $2.00 into $1.80 to take out the Todman.
Vancouver has drifted from $3.20 to $3.40 and the Godolphin trained Furnaces has also had no love easing to $4.60 after opening at $4.20.
