1. Eurocanto: Eurocanto is a Per Incanto colt for Team Hayes that has been kept on ice since Oct 4 when winning the Maribyrnong Trial at Flemington, knuckling down with purpose late to win and win well. He has been tuned up with a couple of jumpouts, I say he is here to play.
2. Eternal Warrior: Big win in the Merson Cooper in the Spring before being spelled. Just one soft trial for the return, I say his Grand Final is in two weeks ago and not sure he’ll be here to play.
3. Guest House: Guest House should be winning this if indeed he’s top seed for the big one in two weeks. He debuted with an electric win at Cranbourne, sitting wide throughout but he was arrogant the way he went about it. Jumped out super since, he looks a good colt and should be taking care of these. Can mark him $1.50, maybe shorter.
4. Stretan Ruler: Ran a game second on debut in the Merson Cooper. Trialled up twice, good racing style and will be in it for a long way. Commands respect.
5. Invicto: That Preview race looks very suspect and he seemingly had every chance.
6. High Alert: High Alert should have won the Preview two weeks back. How he stayed on his feet, no idea, but he balanced up and charged late. Is that race suspect? I think yes, but he’s in a good camp and has good upside to come.
7. Closer To Free: #Darta boys and girls say he’s right in play for this and the big one in two weeks ago…me? I can’t see it, but good luck to those involved.
8. March On By: Nice horse but needs it easier.
