Bet One- Win- Sha Tin Race One Number 2 Charizard:
He looks above average and I just can’t see any runner in this race that has as much upside as he’s got. Looks a really progressive gelding for the David Ferraris stable who is three weeks between runs since scoring such an impressive win over 1200m, coming from near last to blouse them out wide. Only horse in the race to break 22 for the final 400m. If he can sit closer from the draw, clearly the horse to beat. One of the better bets on the card.

Bet Two- Each Way- Sha Tin Race Two Number 9 Loving A Boom:
Making a first starter the best on the program may look a little silly but gee I’ve been taken by this bloke. Former Irish galloper making his Hong Kong debut for Richard Gibson. His overall form in Ireland was solid without jumping up and down but I’ve been really taken by his two trials. First trial was on the dirt and he went with arguably the best dirt horse in Hong Kong, Ugly Warrior, and did it easily, before going to Happy Valley where he was just as impressive behind Alcari. If he can get cover/luck from the draw, gee I think he’ll take some beating. Hoping we can get a decent price.

Bet Three- Win- Sha Tin Race Seven Number 1 Beauty Generation:
No prizes for finding him, but I think the $1.80 price is more than acceptable if you want to back him straight out or anchor in multis. I think even with bad luck he’ll be too good for them. Star galloper who formerly raced in Australia under the name of Montagne but has well and truly gone to a new level since going to Hong Kong. Jockey Club Mile win was outstanding, smashing the track record and doing it whilst being wayward in the straight. Should be winning.

Bet Four- Each Way- Sha Tin Race Ten Number 14 Grade One:
Hopefully we can get an each way price about a horse I like in the get out. Paul O’Sullivan trains this son of Manhattan Rain who ran over the 1400m here three weeks ago and was very good late when closing off to run third to Noble Steed, with Nicconi Express second. Nicconi Express and this bloke look the two but I think the value, hopefully, will be with this guy. If he’s $7+, more than happy to back each way.

Bet Five- Win- Sunshine Coast Race Seven Number 7 Champagne Daisy:
Quality filly for David Vandyke who is several weeks between runs since attempting to lead all the way over 1350m at Doomben where she probably just copped a tad too much pressure and 1350m at that level perhaps found her out. Back to 1200m, fresh with her racing pattern, she appeals, and start prior she bolted up here. Should bounce back into the winners list. Spending big to cover the Sha Tin plays, touch wood.
