Bet One- Win- Scone Race One Number 12 Soori:
Tricky maiden to start the program. Leaning the way of the Allan Denham filly, who is on debut here and gets Greg Ryan steering. Comes here off one 845m trial, but she won that trial, did it nicely and beat a handy type in Evalina. Ryan chooses this girl over the Bjorn Baker filly which I’m hoping is a lead.
Suggested Bet: $30 Win at $5 (BetEasy)
Bet Two- Win- Scone Race Four Number 3 Frankely Awesome:
Could easily measure up at blacktype level IMO. Daughter of Frankel for Kris Lees who was completely unwanted in betting when debuting at Newcastle but the manner in which she won…it was that of a really good horse going places. Bigger track, the mile are big ticks…up to Class 2 is an ask, but she looks more than capable.
Suggested Bet: $150 Win at $1.85 (Sportsbet)
Bet Three- Win- Ipswich Race Four Number 7 Godfather’s Girl:
Solid maiden, but I think she’s the most obvious. Bel Esprit filly for Tony Gollan who has placed in both career outings, the latest over the Sunny Coast 1000m when third to impressive winner Jami Lady. Good gate and blinkers on first time are two big ticks for her and in a tough race, I think she’s the way to go.
Suggested Bet: $25 Win (Tote)
Bet Four- Win- Ipswich Race Seven Number 1 Final Zero:
I think this mare, if she overcomes the draw, will be winning. Michael Lakey trains her and at her best, she’s a Saturday class mare, as we saw a couple of preps ago when beating a blacktype performer in Of The Day. Good fresh record and looks tuned up to run well first up off the back of a couple of encouraging trials.
Suggested Bet: $25 Win at $4.5 (Bet365)
Bet Five- Each Way- Geelong Race Seven Number 6 Crossbearer:
Bludger of a meeting on the Synthetic so I’ll have something each way on this Jamie Edwards galloper, who i think is racing well at the moment but can’t quite crack it for a win. Good effort two back behind Liberty Lad before going to Wodonga where he didn’t have the same zip. Up to 1900m looks ideal and is trained here so the Synthetic will be no issue.
Suggested Bet: $10 E/W (Tote)
Total Spend: $250
