Early market favourite Aloha has taken out today’s Coolmore Classic at Rosehill racecourse beating home Jersey Lilly and the very gallant Melito.
Glen Boss grabbed his second Group One win on Saturday when Victorian mare Aloha outsprinted her rivals in the Coolmore Classic at Rosehill.

The Mick Price-trained four-year-old extended her winning streak, which began at Moonee Valley in November, to five with her stylish victory in the $600,000 1500m fillies and mares’ feature.
Boss, who earlier won the Ranvet Stakes on 100-1 outsider Zavite, jumped Aloha smartly from barrier nine in the 15-horse field and had her travelling smoothly in fourth place as Montana Flyer set a steady tempo in the wet conditions.
He angled the Encosta De Lago mare into the clear at the top of the straight and she sprinted home quickly to beat Jersey Lily and Melito.
“Full credit goes to Micky Price,” an elated Boss said.
“He’s been one of the really solid guys since I came to Melbourne.
“She’s (Aloha) just come back really furnished.
“I told Mick two years, one and half years, ago she’d win a Coolmore.”
The win was Aloha’s eighth from 17 starts which have also yielded six placings for prizemoney in excess of $760,000.
