Vow And Declare is one of the leading contenders for the Melbourne Cup
There is still over a week before the running of the Melbourne Cup, but a quick look at the order of entry for the race gives us a pretty good idea of how the final field for the ‘race that stops a nation’ will look.
Following the running of the Caulfield Cup (2400m) last Saturday and the Cox Plate (2040m) on the weekend, the picture is becoming clearer as to who will make the final field of 24. There is only two races left that can change the course of the field outside of injuries and they are the Bendigo Cup (2400m) on Wednesday and the Lexus Stakes (2500m) on Derby Day.
