Memsie Stakes Information

The Memsie Stakes is a Group l sprint race and is the first Group l of the Melbourne Spring racing season. It is held at Caulfield racecourse each year over 1400m and is a great form race for the Spring.

The race is at Group l level and boasts a total prize pool of $1,000,000 and is at WFA.

The 2020 Memsie Stakes will be run on Saturday the 29th of August, 2020 at Caulfield racecourse.

The Memsie Stakes is the ideal starting point for the best of the best Australian racing has to offer, with most horses using it as a lead up to the Makybe Diva Stakes (1600m) and then progressing further.

The fairer sex has a great record in the race since the turn of the century, with seven mares winning the race, most notably the mighty mares Sunline and Makybe Diva.
