A Stakes race in Adelaide could be on the agenda for No Limitation after registering her maiden win at start number three at Sandown.
The Clayton Douglas-trained filly led throughout to claim the Sportsbet Fast Form Handicap (1000m) on Wednesday.
Ridden by Luke Currie, No Limitation held off the $2.45 favourite Facilitate to score by a short-half-head with Petit Artiste a half-head away third.
Douglas said the Listed Dequetteville Stakes (1000m) on the Morphettville Parks track on April 5 was on the agenda for No Limitation.
The two-year-old had raced twice prior to Wednesday’s contest, finishing out of the money on each occasion, but both races had been tougher than the opposition she was meeting.
No Limitation was dropping in grade from being beaten just under four lengths in the Group 3 Chairman’s Stakes before being freshened.
Douglas said he was relieved the filly had held on to score on Wednesday.
“She tackled some good company at her first preparation and her last start here was really solid,” Douglas said.
“I thought Luke rated her really well out in front. She was probably needing the line late and with six weeks between runs, there should be nice improvement in her.
“It’s really good to get a winner for Barry and Midge Griffiths. They’ve been good supporters of the stable and they’re very famous colours.
“Barry purchased this filly himself, and we’ve got the sister at home, so I’m looking forward to success with the family.”
Douglas said he was glad he made the decision to head to Sandown and give the filly a start, and a confidence boosting win before heading across the border.
“I sent her to the water-walker for a couple of weeks to freshen up after her last start and gave her a jump-out last week,” Douglas said.
“I was thinking about going straight to the race in Adelaide, but I thought she might need this run under the belt, and she needed it late.
“Barry loves his fillies with a bit of Black Type, so hopefully it was a good call to come here.”
