Leading Cups contender Master Of Wine will likely head to Melbourne following his return to racing in Saturday’s Group One Winx Stakes.
Master Of Wine will resume in Saturday’s Winx Stakes over 1400m following two trials heading into the race where he ran fourth and seventh but wasn’t asked for much.
Master Of Wine has opened as the ‘all-in’ favourite in the G1 Winx Stakes and currently sits on the second line of betting for the Caulfield Cup ($10) which will be the horses target races during the Spring along with the Cox Plate where he is the current second favourite ($13).
The Team Hawkes-trained galloper was one of the standout performers in the Autumn winning two of his three starts with the other a very good fourth in the Queen Elizabeth Stakes behind Addeybb.
Bookmakers are keeping Master Of Wine very safe in 2020 Melbourne Cup markets where he is currently a $17 chance although connections have not committed to running the horse in the race.
