Grafton
$20 Win/$80 Place Northern Wilderose R8 @ $7/$2.5 (Sportsbet)
Grafton Overview:
Made her the best of the day and a bit surprised that $7 is on offer. Thought she’d be closer to favourite. Debuted at Kempsey and not sure she was entirely comfortable around that tight track, but she was far too good for her rivals. Time was slow relative to the day, but she has a stack of upside I dare say, she draws a good gate and does look the overs in what is a tricky race on a tricky program.
Port Augusta
$20 Win Parlay 3,4 = $100 Cost
Pandeia R1
Art Music R2
Trooper’s Ploy R4
Masking R7
Port Augusta Overview:
Not sure what Sairyn Fawke will be in the Jockey Challenge at Port Augusta but I think anything over $1.01 is overs. Think he’ll have a very good day and all four parlay options are rides of his, starting with Pandeia in the first. Kylie McKerlie has done a fab job with this mare and she has bolted in at her past two at the track. Potentially cops a bit of pressure this time around but confident she wins. Art Music is likely to be the value of the four. Was a few weeks between runs and up in trip at this track/distance last time and did make up good ground late. Has the run under the belt now and can sit closer in the run. Trooper’s Ploy looks extremely hard to beat in the fourth. Was a few weeks between runs last time out over the mile here but got back and was an eye catcher when third. Up in trip with senior jock on, he can win. Masking was backed as if unbeatable last time out at this track/distance and under Raquel Clark he bolted in. Saves his best for the Port Augusta dirt and from gate one, he’ll get run of the race. Give it strength.
