A set of unofficial jump-outs at Geelong will take on a little more interest with Black Caviar’s first foal Oscietra to make an appearance.

Wednesday’s outing will be a prelude to another jump-out at Flemington after which the Lindsay Park stable will look for a suitable maiden race for the rising three-year-old.

Oscietra drew a larger than normal crowd to Flemington for her debut on January 1 when she finished third behind Limestone and Miss Wahoo.

The filly was being prepared for a late autumn return, but she was experiencing growing pains and the stable opted to give her another break.

Co-trainer Tom Dabernig said Oscietra had strengthened with maturity and Wednesday’s jump-out was an opportunity to see whether the filly handled the synthetic track.

“Our decision to give her a jump-out at Geelong is to see what she’s like there,” Dabernig said.

“If it’s too wet on the turf and we want to kick her off in a maiden there, then we could.

“Horses like Keen Array and Stay With Me won their maidens on the synthetic, so that’s not an issue. It depends on when she’s ready to race and what is available.”

Regan Bayliss, who is on the verge of returning to race riding following a wrist injury, will partner Oscietra on Wednesday.

Oscietra is one of a number of big names from Lindsay Park set for jump-outs this week.

Talented fillies Catchy, Formality and Tulip along with Eshtiraak, Seaburge and He’s Our Rokkii will trial at Flemington on Friday.

Dabernig said, with the exception of Catchy, they were all likely to have another jump-out on August 11 with a possible return to racing on August 19.

Catchy has to have an official barrier trial, likely to be at Cranbourne on August 7, after pulling up with cardiac arrhythmia when last in the Golden Slipper in March.

Dabernig said Catchy and either Formality or Tulip would run in the Quezette Stakes at Caulfield while the other could be Sydney-bound for the Silver Shadow Stakes at Randwick.

He said Seaburge and He’s Our Rokkii were likely to start their spring campaigns in the PB Lawrence Stakes at Caulfield.
