“Traditionally the prelude is the best guide to the Guineas. Long John flew home late in an on pace dominated race with El Roca and Éclair Big Bang being on speed throughout,” Betstar’s Alan Eskander said.
“The step to the mile in the Guineas will suit Long John and as a result he has now firmed into outright favourite for the first time in betting with Betstar.
“Prince Harada, the nominal favourite, has now drifted from $5 out to $5.50. While Éclair Big Bang has shortened from $17 into $7 after winning the Caulfield Guineas prelude and second-placed El Roca has moved from $26 into $9 for the Guineas.”
