Champion colt Vancouver will be targetted at the Golden Rose this year with trainer Gai Waterhouse saying the Coolmore is also an option which is a bit of a surprise with the substantial drop in distance.
This has put talks of a Cox Plate run up in the air.
Vancouver is the current $3 favourite for the Golden Rose.
