5 Like A Tiger (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is sneaky flying for Matty Smerdon I feel and is a knockout each way speck. He ran over 1800m at Sandown last Wednesday where he got back to near last in the run and while he was never a winning threat, his finale behind Superstock was pretty good. Like him up in trip, can settle closer…only runs well.

3 Lauding (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is four weeks between runs since racing over 2000m at Murray Bridge. He got into a decent spot in behind and threatened, but just whacked late behind Lake’s Folly. He saves his best for The Valley, he is one of the leading contenders.

2 Rise To It (Bet Now:  $SP.00) has a good track/distance record and can run a much improved race. He ran at Randwick four weeks back when wide no cover, doing work, and just felt the pinch late in the piece behind Royal Supremacy. Back to this level, he appeals.

13 Fisherman’s Beach (Bet Now:  $SP.00) comes here off the back of a run last Wednesday at Sandown where he was ridden quite negatively, as were others in behind the winner, and although he was never a threat, he kept chasing in a good effort. More positive ride, 2500m, he takes beating.

9 Roaring Engine (Bet Now:  $SP.00) comes back to 78 grade and back to 2500m after racing over 2800m at Flemington where he found the class of race a bit much but was far from disgraced behind Marmona. He has a great track/distance record, he appeals.

5 Dictionary (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is a beauty for John Moloney and is one of the key threats after his VOBIS Gold Stayers win two weeks ago, really showing good ticker late to fend off Jimmy The Bear. That form reads very well for a 78. Appeals as one of the hardest to beat.

6 Takeko (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is hard to beat for Beggy after resuming over 1000m at Sandown where she attempted to lead throughout and gave a decent kick from the front but had no answers late for the finale of Kiko. Good racing style, track/distance winner, she is the one for me.

1 Jenni The Fox (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is an Alex Rae trained mare that resumes. She did some nice things in the Autumn, highlighted by a second to Treasurethe Moment in the Armanasco. Jumpout work has been pretty good and she has a touch of class/quality about her.

11 Thailess (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is an Andrew Bobbin trained mare that resumes, she is a short course specialist so resuming at 1200m I do find interesting but she has jumped out well and has a good racing style.

5 Boston Rocks (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is a son of Hellbent that resumes for Matty Dale. He hasn’t raced since March 7 when an impressive winner over 1200m at The Valley, leading throughout and gave nothing else a look in. Very reliable horse and yes, 1000m is on the short side, but has a touch of a quality.

2 Midwest (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is a sharp short course type for Team Freedman that resumes. He is first up, having not raced since June 21 down the straight at Flemington when far from disgraced in defeat behind Marble Nine. Like him at 1000m and his recent jumpout win was very good.

4 Tiger Shark (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is an interesting runner. Formerly with Nat McCall, she now finds herself with Clayton Douglas. She does look suited at the short course and her jumpout work has been impressive. I’d watch the market and see what it does.

12 Deepfloat Diva (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is the straight bat play. Team Jolly trained gelding that is three weeks between runs since racing on the Parks track at Morphettville when just off the speed and kept chasing when a narrow second to Super Alana. Maps perfect, hard fit, in form, hard to beat.

2 Big Me (Bet Now:  $SP.00) has a good track/distance record and appeals. He ran down the straight three weeks ago at Flemington and tried hard but just couldn’t quite get there when a close up third to Losesomewinmore. That form reads super for a race like this.

6 Martial Music (Bet Now:  $SP.00) comes to town for Team Hayes after a win last Friday at Cranbourne when leading throughout and he gave nothing else a look in. Good racing style for this track, he is one of the leading contenders.

11 Esha (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is a Shane Nichols trained filly that resumes. She debuted at Morphettville Parks on May 17 when leading throughout and she gave nothing else a look in, winning impressively and ran decent time. Jumpout work to get ready has been quite good, I like her against these.

4 Oyster Lane (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is three weeks between runs since racing down the straight at Flemington. He tried hard but had no answers late for the very professional juvenile that is Shining Smile. Knocking on the door to win and strikes a winnable race.

5 Petit Artiste (Bet Now:  $SP.00) ran fourth to Shining Smile three weeks back at Flemington. She just found them a bit sharp but she kept on and was pretty good late in the piece. Fitter, can settle closer, her best is clearly good enough.

3 Relentless Voyager (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is getting towards peak fitness and takes beating after racing over 2000m a few weeks back here. He got too far out of his ground but didn’t mind the way he finished his race off in defeat. His best is clearly good enough.

5 Sayedaty Sadaty (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is flying for Ciaron Maher and is one of the key chances after two wins on the bounce, the latest at Flemington where credit to him, he was there to be beaten but he found and was strong to the line in winning. Commands respect.

1 Berkeley Square (Bet Now:  $SP.00) looks to be sneaky flying for Dan O’Sullivan after a couple of encouraging runs to start the prep. He ran over the mile two weeks back at Caulfield and was good late without really threatening. Getting towards peak fitness and 2040m, he appeals.

7 Farhh Flung (Bet Now:  $SP.00) will need luck from the draw but he’s the one if he gets it. He ran last Saturday at Flemington where he just lost momentum at a key stage but got clear late and was bloused late by Too Darn Discreet. Good record at The Valley, he appeals.

3 Bur Dubai (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is a Price/Kent traine gelding that resumes. He did nice things in his first Australian prep when last in work, including a win over 2500m here before being spelled. Jumped out well and has a touch of quality about him.

10 Private Jumbo (Bet Now:  $SP.00) has run well at the track/distance previously and has a good racing style. He attempted to lead throughout at Sandown last start and gave a good kick from the front but just felt the pinch late behind Reset The Jazz. He’ll give cheek.

14 Naval Academy (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is two weeks between runs since racing at Caulfield when wide no cover for the trip but kept on and was game in defeat behind Pop Award. If that run hasn’t busted him, he’s going well enough to take this out.

11 Layeruponlayer (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is an improving type for Matty Smerdon. He is a few weeks between runs since a win over 1250m on the Parks track, landing in a good spot near the speed and found plenty under pressure to fend them off and score. Good test here against likely types but confident he measures up.

5 Red Hot Nicc (Bet Now:  $SP.00) looks suited at 1200m here after racing over 1200m down the straight a few weeks back when leading and giving a strong kick from the front but first up, condition just gave way late. 1200m here I see as a positive, good racing style, he’ll be around the mark.

NEXT BEST: Race Seven Number 3 Relentless Voyager

LONG SHOT: Race One Number 5 Like A Tiger
